Safe Zone Training
Safe Zone training provides information to faculty, staff and student Allies, as well as support service providers, regarding transitional issues for Gay, Lesbian, Bi-Sexual, and Transgender (GLBT) students at RIT. The training can be individualized to populations with specific levels of knowledge, skills and responsibilities. Additionally, faculty, staff, students and service providers who become familiar with RIT referral resources through the Safe Zone training may obtain Safe Zone stickers. These stickers, once received by trainees, are posted on doors or other visible locations. Thus, this signifies that they serve in neutral and supportive roles for GLBT and questioning students regarding their evolving sense and expression of sexual-orientation.
