Here is where you will find all of the important information you will need when completing any volunteer assignment. Be sure to fill out your project worksheet (link located to the left) if you are volunteering for credit. We also value your opinion regarding how your volunteer experience was. Once you have your plan, it's time to decide on the agency you want to approach with your proposal. Call the agency (volunteer coordinator) and explain who you are, what you want to do, and why you are interested in working with their agency/clients.

Work with the agency to be sure your plans meet their needs and your time-frame is workable.*

You're ready to get started! Make sure you keep in contact with your agency so everyone is on the same page and they are aware of how things are proceeding.**

PLEASE...Follow through on your plans! The agency you are working with is now counting on your help.

If you have problems along the way or don't get the kind of response you had hoped for, just call the SVC and we will work with you to figure out what needs to be done and help you work with the agency (believe me, they will understand).

*The SVC Staff can help you work through the details with the agency
**If you are organizing a drive that will have large donations and you need a way to transport these to your agency, the SVC can help you.

Reflection is Key

This purpose of this questionnaire is to measure how successful your volunteer experience was for you and why. In order to structure meaningful service opportunities in the community we need to understand why students are interested in service and what they wish to get out of it. We are also interested in hearing how you felt about the agency you worked with. We will use this feedback when sending other volunteers to that agency.

Hopefully, this questionnaire will give you an opportunity to reflect on your volunteer experiences in a meaningful way while exploring your feelings about community service. Thank you for helping and caring for your community through community service. You have made a real difference!
