Drumline

In a school that is heavily based with technology and science, students often lose the opportunity to partake in fine arts activities. The purpose of the Drumline is to offer an opportunity for students to involve themselves in a musical activity both on and off campus. The RIT Drumline also allows students to support their school, compete, and most importantly enjoy performing. The RIT Drumline is a year-round activity whose group will perform competitively in the New York State Percussion Circuit (NYSPC), as well as playing at events around campus. The club will begin during the early fall quarter to allow for practice and familiarity with the music and instruments. During the months of February through April the RIT Drumline will compete locally and in the Syracuse area in the NYSPC. Competitions are held on Saturdays, with the exception of championships, and it is here that the Drumline will compete against other colleges such as Onondaga Community College and Cornell. We request that participants have some former knowledge of music to help keep the club focused on achieving its intended goal. If you want to groove to the intensity of the RIT Drumline, then come to try out, support your school, and have a great time.
