The team and club travel to Swain Mountain twice a week to night ski for about three hours. The team and club usually skis for six weeks, starting in early January and lasting to the end of the quarter. For those who want to race there is supervised training for GS and SL while those wanting to free ski can enroll in lessons. The RIT Ski Team is a member of the Empire Team Division in the Mid-east conference of the USCSA and competes in six races during the winter. The team competes with many other varsity level team in the area such as Syracuse, University of Rochester, Cornell, and Ithaca. The team is open to all levels, from those waiting to start racing to those highly experienced. In the past the team has made it to USCSA regionals to compete against the top schools in the North East. | |
