| The Hispanic Deaf Club (HDC) was founded in 1995 by Jaime Mariona with a small group of deaf Latino Students who wanted to get together and share their struggles and accomplishments at National Technical Institute for the Deaf. Some were from native Latino countries, while others were born in the United States. Despite that fact, they shared a common bond- they were all Latinos. Throughout the years HDC has developed into an organization that not only supports deaf Latino students in their academic and social transition into college, but all students, and gives them the opportunity to feel welcome on the NTID community. The HDC executive board is a group that, with that help of their members, can not only address these issues, but also lead in finding solutions to them... HDC is proud to welcome any Hispanic and non-hispanic deaf students to participate in its organization. | |
