Performing Artists Concert Series

 

Get ready for the 2012-2013 Performing Artists Concert Series at RIT

18th Season

Mark your calendar:

September 21, 2012: 8:00PM,  TROMBONANZA presenting a dream team of talented jazz musicians performing music for four trombones and rhythm section. Featured will be music played by the famous trombone ensemble, "J and K," and other great arrangers. Click here for more information!

November 2, 2012: 8:00PM, THOMAS SCHUMACHER Piano Recital: Renowned concert artist Thomas Schumacher (Emeritus Professor of Piano, Eastman School of Music) will perform a varied program including works of Bach-Liszt, Scarlatti, Beethoven, Gershwin, and Rachmaninoff. 

December 14, 2012: 8:00PM, Four Eastman Voice Students presented by KATHRYN COWDRICK, Associate Professor of Voice. The program will include Ms. Cowdrick's solo performance of "Bon Appetit," a hilarious operatic spoof of Julia Child.

March 22, 2013: 8:00PM, Four RPO Cellists featuring INGRID BOCK, CHRISTOPHER HARITATOS, LARS KIRVAN, and BENJAMIN KRUG

April 24, 2013: 8:00PM, Old Wine, New Bottles: Arranging 101, Featuring the ROD BLUMENAU Quartet with Special Guest DOUG STONE. Rod and his henchmen will play songs you know, in styles you don’t normally associate with those songs. Most will be Rod’s unique jazz arrangements, but a portion of the program will be left open for the band to craft unique, on-the-spot renditions of audience requests.
