RIT Tech Crew is a paid production department whose staff is comprised entirely of student employees managed by two RIT staff members. Tech Crew's parent department is the Center for Campus Life; its primary mission is to support on-campus student activities. Our services also extend to support the production needs of the entire RIT community providing lighting, sound, staging, and power distribution for special events ranging from dance parties, to lectures, to rock concerts, to commencement.
Our primary venue is the Ingle Auditorium found in Building 4, the Student Alumni Union; however, we can be seen throughout the year supporting production needs in various campus facilities including, but certainly not limited to, the Gordon Field House and Activities Center.
Tech Crew employs about 40 students during the school year and owns various production equipment. Additionally, Tech Crew works closely with various outside production companies subcontracted to work on campus.
