Question #1: When, where and how much does it cost to vend at RIT?
Vending occurs at RIT Monday through Friday in Grace Watson Hall and on Thursdays and Fridays in the Student Alumni Union.
Vendors who choose to vend at Grace Watson Hall must bring their own tables and are paying for the space they are using. The cost of one table space is $50, a second and third table space(s) are $6 each. A vendor can have a maximum of three spaces per vending day. The vending hours for Grace Watson Hall are 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM.
Vendors who choose to vend at the Student Alumni Union will find six-foot tables set up for them when they arrive to vend at RIT. One table is $50, while second and third tables are $6 each. A vendor can have a maximum of three tables per vending day. The vending hours for the Student Alumni Union are 9:00 AM- 4:30 PM.
Question #2: What are the benefits of vending at RIT?
Vending at RIT gives vendors access to over 15,000 students, faculty and staff.
A student group may be assigned to each vendor to enhance the vendor's experience and help promote for the vendors products or services.
Each of the vending location is conveniently located near a popular campus cafeteria.
Question #3: What happens if a vendor makes a reservation and needs to cancel it?
A vendor can cancel any reservation they make; however, they must confirm this cancellation with the Vending Office a minimum of 24 hours before the reservation. If a vendor does not follow the 24 hour prior cancellation rule they may not be allowed to vend at RIT in the future and/or they may be charged a cancellation fee.
Question #4: Where do vendors unload their products and park while vending at RIT?
Vendors MUST unload behind the Student Alumni Union near Lot U. Vendors should stop at the Visitors Information Center, located on the North side of campus near the front of the SAU, to pick up a parking pass for Lot U for the day(s) they are vending.
Vendors may unload in front of Grace Watson Hall and park in the spaces available near Grace Watson Hall. Vendors should pick up a parking pass at the Public Safety Office in Grace Watson Hall.
Question #5: What can be expected of the student organizations from the vendors?
Vendors are allowed to ask their assigned student organization to help promote for them through hanging flyers and posters around campus. Vendors are also allowed to ask a student organization to help them unload and set up, clean up and load their vehicles, and to give them a break during the middle of the day. Your organization must be prepared to meet all of these requirements when you agree to be a vending sponsor.
